Inspired by 95 year old friend, Frank
A life story not written is like a library that burns to the ground

March 27, 2019
I’m not a writer at 68 years of age & never have cared for it. A few months ago I went to a presentation by Frank Klauda, a fellow who I first met several years ago at a church breakfast. I overheard Frank talk about hearing the bombing. Since my Dad had been a soldier overseas during WWII, I asked Frank what military branch he had been in. He said he was a Hungarian refugee. Another fellow at the table said, “you must not have read Frank’s autobiography.” I asked where I might get the story/book and the fellow said, “you have to be Frank’s friend.” So I turned to Frank and said, “May I be your friend?” “Yes,” responded Frank. Later that week Frank gave me a 308 page self-typed & self printed spiral bound book saying, “read it when you want to go to be put to sleep.” Frank is a very soft-spoken, gentle, humble man with a very interesting story.
A few months ago I went to a presentation by Frank, his words have lingered in my mind, “Your story unwritten/told is like a library that burns down. So with Frank’s encouragement I’ll begin writing.
